Volunteers Needed to Serve on Boards

The Village Council is seeking volunteers for vacant positions on two volunteer Boards.

The Parks, Recreation and Greenways Board has one vacant seat.  This is an advisory board that meets the first Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Village Hall.  The Board is charged with the design of park and greenway systems that can be embraced by every member of Marvin’s diverse community; including members of our rural community, our equestrian community and our subdivision communities. The Board uses the Village’s Parks & Greenways Master Plan to steer the parks and greenway progress.

The Board of Adjustment also has one vacant seat.  This is a quasi-judicial board that interprets Village ordinances and policies for unique situations or special cases related to the Village Zoning Ordinance. The Board meets on an 'as needed' basis.

The Planning Board currently has no vacant seats, but the Council is always interested in hearing from residents who have interest in serving on this Board, especially in case a vacancy arises.  The Planning Board is an Advisory Board that meets monthly on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Village Hall. The Board is charged with developing and maintaining a cooperative planning program to benefit the residents of the Village of Marvin. The duties of the Board relate directly to planning and land development.

If you have interest in serving your community as a volunteer Board member, click here for an application and return it to the Village Hall or email it to the Village Clerk.  Call the Village Hall with any questions.
