The Village Council has agreed to honor long-time Village volunteer, Lanny Openshaw, by naming an area at the Marvin Efird Park in his honor.

Lanny has served the residents of Marvin and Union County as a member of the Planning Board, Council, Parks & Rec Board, as well as a Union County Commissioner.  He has volunteered at the park in the role of Park Supervisor and has worked to improve the park since it's purchase.

On Sunday, November 6 at 2 p.m., the cornhole course next to the barn will be officially named 'The Lanny Openshaw Cornhole Course.'  The cornhole course idea was conceived by Lanny, constructed by volunteers, and lovingly maintained by Lanny.

The public is cordially invited to attend this ceremony to  honor our friend and dedicated public servant.
