The Village Council approved the 2016-2017 budget on 6/30/2016. Budget highlights include: no tax increase for the 14th year in a row; setting aside $225,000 for subdivision road improvements ($120,000 from Powell Bill Funds and $105,000 from current operations) that will help protect the value of homes and improve neighborhood safety issues; reduced Attorney, engineers and planning consultant fees; increased salaries and stipends to align with current work load for Village employees, elected and appointed officials; and increased funding for park operations, including purchase of a tractor for park maintenance that will help control overall maintenance costs. The adopted budget can be found here.
The Council also approved a capital projects budget. Capital projects for this year include a new village hall, trail expansions, and a farmers market building for the corner of Marvin School Road and New Town Road.
