January 5, 2018 is the last day for Village of Marvin property owners to pay real and personal property taxes for 2017 without interest. Tax payments not postmarked by January 5th begin accruing interest on January 6th at the rate of 2 percent for the first month late and 3/4 percent each month thereafter. There are several ways to pay your tax bill:
- By Mail: Mail your check to Village of Marvin, 10004 New Town Road, Marvin, NC 28173
- In Person: Pay at the Village Hall located at 10004 New Town Road during normal office hours (Mondays 9:30 am till 4 pm, Tuesdays thru Thursdays 9:30 am till 2:30 pm)
- Online at www.marvinnc.org
- Convenience fees apply to payments made by credit or debit cards and e-checks

The Village of Marvin Office will be closed on Monday, December 25th thru Wednesday December 27th, and on Monday January 1, 2018.

Mayor Pro Tem, Brian Beaty, has called for a special meeting, to be held at 10012, New Town Road, in Fellowship Hall, of Banks Presbyterian Church. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. The purpose of the meeting is to move into closed session, pursuant to N.C.G.S. §143-318.11[a] to discuss matters pertaining to personnel. Join us for a heart warming festive event for both young and old! Activities include a visit with Santa, hot chocolate & cookies and live musical performances. End the evening with a countdown to our annual tree lighting!
Once again, the Village is partnering with Toys for Tots in collecting toys for the Christmas Bureau. Please bring a new unwrapped gift to the event or drop it off at Village Hall prior to the event. Baby items and teen gifts are in great need.
The event is welcomed to all.

Village Council Work Session Cancelled

The Village Council has cancelled their work session for tonight, Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 5 pm, because there is not a quorum to conduct the meeting.
The Village Council's next regular meeting is scheduled for November 14, 2017, at the Village Hall, 10004 New Town Road, at 6:30 pm.

The League of Women Voters of Union County will moderate a forum for candidates for the Village of Marvin council.
The forum will be held on November 1, 2017, at Marvin Ridge High School, beginning at 7 pm. The public is invited.

Land Use Plan and Village District Center

The Village of Marvin has scheduled two Community Open House meetings to review the Land Use Plan/Village Center District and the final plans for the new Village Hall. Both Open Houses will be held at the Village Hall, 10004 New Town Road. The first Open House will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 2-4 pm and on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 5-7 pm. The open houses are designed to allow citizens to review and ask questions regarding the general design and layout of the Land Use Plan/Village Center District and the final stages of the new Village Hall.
