We apologize if you had difficulty reaching Staff at the Village Hall today. We have been experiencing intermittent phone and internet service due to the utility work at Marvin School/New Town and Marvin-Waxhaw/New Town Roads in preparation for the twin roundabouts.

On March 3, 2018, a workday is planned from 8 am until 12 noon in partnership with Boy Scouts of America. They will be replacing the wood around the garden beds. Park staff needs several volunteers to assist with the project. If you are interested, please contact Derek Durst at email@example.com.

Please take notice that the Marvin Village Council has called for public hearing to be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall (10004 New Town Road) for the purpose of receiving public comment on the following:
- Conditional Use Permit #CUP 17-12010 for an accessory structure greater than two-thirds the size of the principal building footprint.
The Village of Marvin reserves the right to make amendments to the proposed documents based on information received at the public hearing. Citizens are invited to make written and oral comment. All documents are available for inspection at the Village Hall during regular business hours.
The Village of Marvin does not discriminate on the basis of disability. Village of Marvin Advisory Boards

The Marvin Village Council appoints citizens to serve on a number of advisory boards. Most of these boards participate in the Village's policy decisions by making recommendations to the Marvin Village Council. You can make a difference by sharing your time and talents and becoming an integral part of our community's success.
Currently, we have openings on the Parks, Recreation and Greeways Advisory Board (PRG) and the Planning Board (PB). Applications are accepted on a continual basis and kept on file for consideration in the event a vacancy occurs. Applicants must be 18 years old and a resident of the Village of Marvin. If you want to make a difference and share your talents, please fill out the Village Volunteer Advisory Board application and notate the Advisory Board you wish to serve on.

Mayor Joseph E. Pollino, Jr. has called for a special meeting, to be held at 10012 New Town Road, in the Fellowship Hall of Banks Presbyterian Church. The meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 9, 2018, at 8:15 am. The purpose of the meeting is to interview candidates for the Village Administrator's position.

Community Garden Application Renewal and Fees

Once again, it's time to renew your Community Garden Plot Application for 2018.
The garden fees will remain the same as last year: $20.00 for regular garden plots and $30.00 for trellis plots (there are only 3). Payment maybe accepted by cash, check and credit card. Credit card payments can be made on the Village of Marvin's website: Click: How Do I... tab, Pay online, then Make Payments Online and follow the instructions to pay for Marvin Efird Park Community Garden Plot. Please note a 3% convenience fee will be applied to all credit card payments.
Any garden plots that are not reserved will be placed on a waiting list and offered to Marvin Residents on a first-come basis in early March 2018. The Village Staff must receive all Community Garden Plot renewal applications by February 28, 2018.

It is time to reserve your Garden Plots

The 2018 gardening season will officially end on February 8, 2018. The new season will begin on March 12, 2018. Community Gardeners are given the first opportunity to reserve a plot. However, plots must be reserved by February 20, 2018. Please let us know if you would like to keep your current plot or reserve another plot (if available). If you plan to discontinue your garden, please notify the Village Hall Staff at 704.843.1680 as soon as possible and remember to clean out your garden plot by February 9, 2018.

Meeting Date Rescheduled
