The Village of Marvin is seeking Volunteers to fill a vacant seat on the Planning Board. In response to COVID-19 Precautions, the Village Hall will be closed to the public except by appointment until further notice. Village Hall Operations will not cease; however, we are encouraging residents to make appointments with the appropriate staff person by contacting them via email:

Lack of Quorum of Planning Board due to the COVID-19
The Village of Marvin has been informed that a quorum of the Planning Board (for its meeting scheduled on March 24, 2020 at 6:30 pm in the Village Hall) will not be available because of the coronavirus and the meeting cannot occur without a quorum.

Union County Government remains operating and committed to serving residents during this healthcare crisis; however based on guidance provided by the CDC and NCDHHS on social distancing and measures to slow the spread of COVID-19, the Union County leadership team has determined all County buildings will be closed to the public until further notice. Union County will continue to serve residents two ways:
· All services that can be provided via our website, phone and email will be completed virtually
· Select services will be provided by appointment only

UPDATE: Union County Government is changing some services and operations to protect the health of residents, visitors, and employees. We are committed to serving our residents during this healthcare crisis.
Please see the below changes to operations effective Wednesday, March 18 until further notice:
- The Government Center, Human Services Agency, and Veterans Services will be open from 8:00am-12:00pm Monday through Friday. All services in these locations will be available to residents in person during those hours. The exception will be the Register of Deeds, which will serve residents from 8:00am-5:00pm. The afternoon hours (12:00pm-5:00pm) will be in the lobby of the Government Center. e-Recording will continue as usual between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm. The remainder of the building will not be open to the public from 12:00pm-5:00pm.
- The Agricultural Center is closed to the public until further notice.
- All Union County libraries will be closed. Patrons will be able to pick up materials that have been placed on hold online. Library staff is currently exploring Facebook Live opportunities for children programming.
- All Union County Parks and Recreation locations will be closed. These include Cane Creek Park, Fred Kirby Park, and Jesse Helms Park.
- Union County Transportation will provide limited services. Customers will transported for medical and essential food shopping only.
- Union County senior dining locations are closed. Home deliveries will continue to be provided.
- Union County Animal Shelter is closed to the public; but will continue to operate and serve the animals in its care.
- The Magistrate's office in Union County remains open under normal operations.
- All solid waste locations will operate under normal schedules
- All Union County departments will remain available to answer phone calls and emails during their normal business hours.
- Starting March 18, 2020, Union County will temporarily suspend all new water disconnections and late fees for Public Works customers until further notice.
