UC Council on Aging - Senior Volunteer Fair

Posted by Melody Monday, April 25, 2016 2:41:00 PM

The Union County Council on Aging is hosting a Senior Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, May 10th from 1:30-4 p.m. at the Ellen Fitzgerald Senior Center in Monroe.

This volunteer fair is an opportunity for seniors to learn about different nonprofit organizations in Union County that are seeking volunteers.  Volunteering offers meaningful opportunities to make a positive impact in the community, as well as benefitting those who choose to volunteer.  It provides a sense of achievement and an introduction to new interests and hobbies, as well as opportunities to connect with others.  The agencies that are present will be there to introduce their organizations and to help find a volunteer opportunity that is perfect for the individuals.

There will be approximately 10-15 nonprofit agencies represented at the fair.  Each participant will have the opportunity to discuss the volunteer services with the organizations in order to find a volunteer opportunity that best fits with that individual.  Any and all seniors with an interest in volunteering are welcome.  Light refreshments will be provided.
